Mathieu van der Poel is a Dutch professional cyclist who has made a name for himself in the sport. He rides for the UCI WorldTeam Alpecin–Premier Tech and has been recognized with several awards, including Dutch Sportsman of the Year and the Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau award. Van der Poel is the son of Adrie van der Poel, a former professional cyclist. He has a rivalry with Wout van Aert, which is considered one of the greatest in the sport.
